Boris Rapoport

Boris Samuilovich Rapoport, age 91, son of Samuel Rapoport and Polina Rapoport (Katz), was born in Moscow, USSR on June 24, 1930. He passed away on January 18, 2022 at the house of his daughter Yuliya in Suwanee, where he stayed since early 2018. He survived the bombing of Moscow in 1941 and was evacuated to safer areas. After the war was over, he finished High school and was admitted to The Institute of Telecommunications in Leningrad, USSR which he graduated with Master Degree in 1953. For his entire career, he worked for a telecommunication company where he managed a laboratory for many years. Boris was extremely passionate about his job and was highly respected by his colleagues. He received several medals and awards of honor for his work. He retired from that company in 2000 after 47 years of service and moved to the USA to reunite with his son Ilya and daughter Yuliya.

In 1956 he married an amazing woman by the name Evgenia Bochkareva. They lived happily together for nearly 60 years. Boris was an extremely helpful man, and took every opportunity to help his co-workers, friends and family. He was very strong and optimistic throughout his entire life and to his last day. He is survived by three children: Alexandra, Yuliya and Ilya, seven grandchildren: Maria, Katerina, and Anna, Evgenia & Anton, Marie & Samuel, as well as two great-grandchildren: Vasilisa and Artem. He was preceded in death by his wife Evgenia.
