Dan Holland Youmans passed away on Monday, May 31, 2022 at age 74. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 11, 1947. He was legally adopted and raised by his loving parents Herschel W. Youmans and Carolyn H. Youmans.
Dan was most proud of his beautiful family: Ronda Youmans, their daughters: Celeste and Tina, and four beautiful grandchildren: Caylee, Mallory, Matthew, and Eli. Dan was an Atlanta native his entire life, a very proud University of Georgia graduate. He graduated class of 1969, with a degree in journalism. He was also a cheerleader for the University of Georgia, and a diehard Dawgs fan.
Dan was truly a pillar in the Dunwoody community and leaves behind an amazing legacy in the dance community. Always an entertainer, Dan began dancing as a young child and continued almost until his dying day. He went on to accomplish amazing things and work with a star-studded list of fantastic performers in his life. Dan and Ronda started a dance studio, Dan & Company, in 1971. They created a wonderful dance community where they have trained hundreds of dancers in the Dunwoody and Atlanta area for over 52 years. Now recently passed down, Dan & Company Studios remains family-owned and run, and his legacy lives on. He is remembered for inspiring hundreds of dancers in his time and was a father to so many. He was the most charismatic, funny, iconic man to anyone who was lucky enough to know him. We know he is surely dancing in heaven.
