Virginia Oliveto Bailey, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed peacefully into heaven on December 2nd, 2021. We are thankful for the time we were able to spend with our wonderful Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma.
Virginia was born October 10th, 1933, to Caterina and Salvatore Oliveto growing up in Clarksburg, West Virginia in a family consisting of 10 kids. She married and had 3 children, Jean, Marcia and Bob. She went on to raise her family in Florida and New York before ultimately settling in Atlanta, Georgia in 1969. In later years, she had a career in operations for a maritime shipping company. As time passed, she enjoyed being able to help raise and shape the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Virginia will be remembered for many things. Her tenacity and strength were unwavering. She knew God, was involved in her church and guided her children to attend church. She was a leader by example and would let her family and friends know right from wrong.
Virginia would like to give special thanks to her church, friends, hospice and family. In her final days she much appreciated those who visited, who said prayers for her, brought food, called or sent flowers. Additional thanks to Rich and Elaine Gavette for visiting our niece, Betty Jean DeLuca, weekly.
Virginia is survived by her children Jean (Jerry), Marcia (Bobby), Bob (Donna), Irene Lobuts, her only surviving sister, nephew Tim Heitz, niece and nephew Elaine and Rich Gavette, , nephew Mark Oliverto, nephew Tommy Joe Oliveto, grandchildren Meredith, Lindsey, Elizabeth, Bobby and Alex, and great-grandchildren Jackson, Piper, Benny, Miranda and Pasha.
Services to be held 11 a.m. December 14th, 2021 at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
